Commissions
Commissions;
Layne paints a variety of subject matter, specializing in marines and classic yachts. His commissions include portraits of yachts, views, portraits, animals. Commissions are all subject to an approved oil study, a visual contract, prior to the start of any painting, for reassurance for the client as well as a fixed objective for the artist.
Commissions-- The price reflects similar size and subjects of paintings with the added cost to perform an accepted working study. Only after a comprehensive consultation does the artist perform a small color oil study upon said conversation. This study is open to criticism for color, details and anything that might be pertinent to the final outcome of the painting. If the first study does not satisfy these conditions another study will be preformed; until an agreement with both parties is reached that all the particulars of the painting are understood. Only after the study is approved and with one third deposit does the commission commence with a 4-6 week delivery date, followed by full payment.
The study and/or studies remain the property of the artist. The framing is left up to the new owners.
Auction Records
Over the years the artist has been approached to participate in numerous auctions and charities and recently with growing success.
